Shower Door Questions.
What does shower door installation cost?
A standard shower door is a one-visit job priced per job, and you get the number before it goes on the calendar. Heavy frameless glass or an opening that is badly out of square takes longer, and we tell you that up front rather than afterward.
Do I buy the door or do you?
Either works. Plenty of customers pick a door at Lowe's or Home Depot and we hang it. We can also measure first so you buy the right size on the first try, which is the step most do-it-yourself attempts get wrong.
Framed, semi-frameless, or frameless?
Framed is the budget workhorse. Semi-frameless looks cleaner for a little more. Frameless is the premium look, but the glass is heavy and unforgiving, which is exactly when you want someone who has hung a lot of them.
The glass broke. Can just the door be replaced?
Usually, if the frame and the opening are sound. We will say honestly when a full replacement makes more sense than fighting a corroded frame.
My shower opening is not square. Is that a problem?
It is normal, especially in the older Bayshore and Red Bank houses. Every door comes with an adjustment range, and using it well is most of the skill. A wall that leans is something to measure for, not something that stops the install.
